Miami, FL. (May 20, 2022) – After accumulating more than 500 million global streams with his second studio album “Bucle” and trending across social media platforms, multi-platinum recording artist Boza presents the music video for his song “San Andrés”. Being one of his more personal songs, the singer-songwriter penned “San Andrés” during a period of insomnia as well as loneliness, using that time to pause and reflect on all the things he was experiencing at the moment. Released under Sony Music Latin, the video is aimed at increasing awareness during Mental Health Awareness Month especially because of its lyrics and how much the track personally means to Boza. Listen to “San Andrés” on all digital music platforms.
The track was written by Boza and Irving Quintero “Faster” and was produced by Faster. With a soft melody and a fusion of unique sounds, Boza bares his soul like never before in San Andrés, where he uses the San Andreas fault as an anecdote to describe how certain situations affect people’s mental health. “As I mentioned before, this is my favorite song on the album and I wrote it at 3-4 in the morning during a moment of insomnia. It’s a song that came from my soul. Writing is the best way for me to express my innermost feelings and it allows my fans to get to know another side of me. With this in mind, we created this music video where I fight against all the obstacles that are sometimes in my head and in the end I save myself”, expressed the Latin Grammy nominated artist, Boza.
Directed by Daniel Bethencourt and filmed in Breckenridge, Colorado, the music video features astonishing images ranging from breathtaking views of the mountains to the chilling snow. The video follows Boza as he walks alone searching for his own path. He goes through difficult moments represented by the snow, the cold, and the cracks, and although he falls, after every storm, peace arrives. Without a doubt, the visuals from the video reflect Boza’s feelings when he first wrote the track.
“San Andrés” forms part of “Bucle”, which became the most listened to album in Spanish on Spotify’s Top Albums Debut chart. As one of the most anticipated videos by fans around the world, “San Andres” has generated the most views of any track on the album on YouTube (1.8M) and nears a million streams on digital platforms. Additionally, the song peaked No. 1 on the Spotify and Apple Music Latin chart in Panama and became the No. 1 trend on YouTube in the country.
Currently, Boza is on a promotional tour in Colombia and in the past few days he visited a youth prison bringing a message of hope. In addition, he will also be visiting El Pedregal in Medellin. These visits, which were coordinated by the Fundación Acción Interna, have meant a lot to Boza who lived through a similar experience in the past.
With more than a combined 1.34 billion total streams across his musical catalog, Boza has become one of the most influential artists in the industry today. After making a name for himself with his multi-platinum record “Hecha Pa’ Mí”, he released his second global hit “Ella”, that was certified Platinum in Central America and the Caribbean, Colombia, Spain, Peru, and, now, the United States. Due to this success, he released “Ella Remix”, which was certified Platinum in the United States, Gold in Central America, Spain, and Mexico, and reached Spotify’s Top 200 Global chart.
Recently, BOZA received 2 nominations to the Premios Tu Música Urbano 2022 award show in the categories “Remix of the Year” for “Ella Remix” and “Album of the Year” – New Artist for “Bucle”.
