Miami, FL (October 7, 2022) – As he continues a steady rise to stardom that took him last week from the White House and the Hispanic Heritage Awards, to releasing a track on Amazon Originals as a tribute to Daddy Yankee, Puerto Rican singer-songwriter ROBI knows exactly where his career is headed. As one of the newest leading voices in Latin music, ROBI releases today a new collaboration “Sigo Feliz” with Colombian supergroup, Piso 21. With the new collab, fans can enjoy a catchy reggaeton infused chorus combined with an impeccable melody by Piso 21, bringing the perfect blend of sounds onto one track. Released under Interscope Records/Orion Records, “Sigo Feliz” is now available on all digital music platforms.
The collaboration emerged organically during a songwriting camp. When Dim and Pablo of Piso 21 arrived at the studio where ROBI had his session, they liked what they heard and immediately joined ROBI to write and produce what would become “Sigo Feliz,” a song originally intended for ROBI to release solo. “While I was recording my verse, they fell in love with the track and we decided right then and there that it should be a collaboration with Piso 21,” expressed ROBI about the track that was produced by Noize ‘El Nuevo Sonido’, Botlok and Dim.
“Sigo Feliz” has a nostalgic vibe that gets stronger as the song progresses. The song’s about getting over a break-up without the pain. It’s about ending a relationship with someone who doesn’t love you, leaving them behind for something better. Instead of projecting despair, the song takes a humorous tone, where the lyrics express how thankful one should be for detaching yourself from something that’s no longer good for you.
Directed by José Emilio Sagaro, the music video was shot in Miami, Florida. With black and white tones, the visuals perfectly complement the lyrics of the song as it speaks of a breakup and at the same time the happiness that it brings to let go of a person who isn’t good for you. Visually, the video represents a contrast between the good and the bad, where good is represented by white tones and bad by black ones.
Earlier this week, ROBI released a cover version of Daddy Yankee’s hit song “Tú Príncipe,” which he performed during the 35th Hispanic Heritage Awards as part of a tribute in honor of the music icon. ROBI’s version of the track was released exclusively by Amazon Music as part of the first edition of ‘La Nueva Pack,’ a new series of compilations by Amazon Originals.
