Miami, FL. (December 29, 2022) – Multicultural boy group TFN ends 2022 with several historical feats on their journey to conquer the LATAM market. Let’s take a look back at TFN in 2022.
The group kicked off the year with their one-year anniversary celebration on January 11. They later promoted in Japan with their EP ‘Our Teen:Blue Side.’In March, they released their fan song “EDELWEISS” the exact name of their fandom.
In May, TFN surprised fans and media alike with the release of their dance cover to the global icon Daddy Yankee’s “CAMPEÓN” from his lattest album, LENGENDADDY. Within the first week, the video received over 1 Million views. Daddy Yankee took to Twitter to thank the boys of TFN for their cover by reposting the youtube video.
In July, TFN leveled up with the release of “When The Sun Goes Down”. This is the group’s first-ever Spanish single. The track was written by Latin Grammy® nominee and Venezuelan singer-songwriter Manu Manzoalongside Daniel Gonzalez Sobrino.
The group made two historical impacts with this single:
- The first K-Pop group to release an all-Spanish single.
- The group became the first K-Pop group to appear on HTV Latin America.
The group then went to promote in Mexico and Puerto Rico for the first time. Upon their arrival, the group was well received by their Mexican Edelweiss. Labelmates MOMOLAND and TFN became the first K-pop groups to attend a latin music awards show, Premios Juventud, which was hosted in Puerto Rico.
October saw a major change for the group as they hang up the name T1419 and rebranded as TFN. The month also saw new beginnings as the group made their U.S. performance debut at KAMP Los Angeles hosted at the famous Rose Bowl Stadium. By the end of the month, TFN released the ‘BEFORE SUNRISE Part. 4′ which ends their debut saga. The lead single “AMAZON” was directed by Marlon Peña and filmed in Miami.
While on their second promo tour in Mexico in late November, TFN had the opportunity to attend Daddy Yankee’s December 4th concert. Finally, the long-awaited meet happened; TFN and Daddy Yankee met where they each expressed love and gratitude.
TFN closed out the year with their participation in the 2022 Asia Artist Awards. Early in the year, labelmates TFN and Lapillus dropped a surprise rendition performance cover of “WOW BB”, a Dominican anthem by Natti Natasha, Chimbala, and El Alfa. Aside from their separate performance, the groups performed their “WOW BB” cover at the 2022 Asia Artist Awards After Stage segment. This is the second time TFN performed a Spanish single; Last December the group made history by opening the 2021 Asia Artist Awards with Global Superstar Daddy Yankee’s global hit “PROBLEMA” which became the single the first Spanish song to open the Asia Artist Awards. The group took home the ‘AAA Potential Award’ for the second time in a row.
