Miami, FL. (December 30, 2022) – LAPILLUS made their debut in the K-Pop scene in July 2022. Let’s take a look back on their year so far.
New to the scene and formed under MLD Entertainment, Lapillus made their debut on June 20 with the single “HIT YA!”. The song became a hit receiving 8.9 Million Youtube views and over 2 Million Spotify streams in its first month.
In July, the group released two covers. With their brother group TFN, they released a rendition dance cover of Natti Natasha, Chimbala, and El Alfa’s “WOW BB”. Standing alone, the group performed a cover of Camila Cabello’s “Don’t Go Yet”. While showing a more refreshing style and look in “WOW BB”, the girls switch up with a fiery-fierce look in “Don’t Go Yet”. In both videos, the girls are singing in Spanish and English.
Later, the group went to the Philippines for promotion. Lapillus made a successful debut with the fan meeting held in Manila that drew attention to gathering 8,000 fans. Thanks to this global popularity, Lapillus was honored to be appointed as an ambassador for Ilocos Sur in the Philippines.
In September, Lapillus released their first EP ‘GIRL’s ROUND Part. 1’. The album contains five songs of which two are title songs; “GRATATA”-title, “Burn With Love”-title, “Queendom”, “HIT YA!” previously released debut song, and “GRATATA Instrumental”. “GRATATA” garnered over 5 Million Youtube views and 1.3 Million Spotify streams.
The group wrapped up the year with their first-ever award show participation at the 2022 Asia Artist Awards. They showcase a new side of themselves with an intro to their latest single. They hit big at the awards by taking home the ‘AAA Focus Award’ which is their first award since debut.
Later at the 2022 Asia Artist Awards After Stage segment, Lapillus, andTFN joined forces and performed for the first time ever their “WOW BB” cover.
In 2023, Lapillus aims for a Latin takeover with their first promotion set for February. Stay tuned for more from Lapillus!
