“Q Si Q No” was the first single by Manu Manzo to be distributed by TikTok’s new music distribution platform, SoundOn
Miami, FL. (June 27, 2023) – From the city that never sleeps, New York, Venezuelan urban alternative pop artist Manu Manzo releases the new music video for her recent musical anthem, “Q Si Q No”. The song, which is part of her album “Luna en Géminis“, fuses electronic R&B with jazz and a touch of urban sounds. Watch the music video HERE.
When creating “Q Si Q No,” Manu reflects on a life experience where she had to make the decision to separate herself from someone who was not good for her, ultimately choosing herself. The music video follows this storyline.
“We wanted it to have a unique city vibe and I quickly thought of New York. I love it and it was definitely the perfect place to shoot. On the other hand, as a fun fact, they sent me two model options for the music video and I chose one that looked like my ex. This song itself wasn’t about that ex, but I found it funny that any resemblance to real life is purely coincidence,” expressed Manu Manzo.
Directed by James W. Scheuer in New York City, Manu wanted the music video to represent what it’s like to feel alone and insecure in a relationship. The feeling of needing to wait for a text message to see if they will meet later at night, with the uncertainty of “Is he going to text me or not.” The music video shifts scenes to Manu being physically present at dinner but looking at her cell phone the entire time, realizing that the relationship is definitely not working. With the unique New York City vibe, Manu ultimately decides to follow her own path and go on a date with herself, as neither of them were fully invested in the relationship.
Manu co-wrote the song with Puerto Rican composer Maritza Maresma, and Mexican composer and producer Daniel Grossman (also known as LUCH). In addition to the honest lyrics, the song has a sensual melody on the saxophone as a tribute to his first love in music, JAZZ.
Recently, Manu Manzo released her album “Luna en Géminis” where she fuses rhythms like R&B with touches of pop and urban in an exploration of new sounds. This album served as a catharsis for Manu Manzo, allowing herself to feel from the depths of her heart, to identify everything she wanted to convey through each song. The album includes collaborations with artists such as Maffio and Calacote in “Pegaito”, one of the main tracks for “Luna en Géminis”, which is characterized by its sensual rhythm that encapsulates the feeling of dancing with the person you’re attracted to. Other songs included in the album are “Evolución(Intro)”,“SacaLaCamara”, “Celos”, “Q Si Q No”, “Tan Solo Tu” ft. Sessi, “DND”, “Ojos Negros”, “Vacío”, “Pobre Diablo”, “Pal Tóxico” feat. Homero Gallego and “Paella”.
