THE ARGENTINE FOLKLORE CLASSIC RESURGES IN A COMPLETE ALBUM RELEASING ON MAY 10
Miami, FL. (April 19, 2024) – Amanda Miguel embarks on a profound artistic journey, reconnecting with her Argentine heritage through the timeless allure of Latin American Folklore classics. On April 19, 2024, Amanda Miguel unveils her rendition of the beloved Argentine folklore anthem, “Balderrama,” in collaboration with esteemed countrywoman, Soledad Pastorutti (“La Sole”). Released under the DIAM Music label, the track is available on all major digital music platforms.
“Balderrama” narrates the rich history of a cultural hub, known as a “peña,” where poets and musicians congregated to celebrate music and creativity. Originating from an immigrant couple in Salta, Argentina, Balderrama transformed from a daytime warehouse into a vibrant nocturnal gathering spot. Amanda Miguel infuses her interpretation of “Balderrama” with a personal touch, aiming to inspire both herself and her audience through its poignant narrative.
Reflecting on the collaboration with “La Sole,” Amanda Miguel remarks, “Sole’s participation in this project adds immense depth to the album. As Argentina’s foremost folklore artist, her involvement is an honor for me, as she epitomizes the essence of our cultural heritage.”
The accompanying music video for “Balderrama” was shot at “El boliche de Roberto,” a traditional peña in Buenos Aires, echoing the communal spirit of gatherings at Balderrama. Fans can experience the music video on Amanda Miguel’s YouTube channel.
Leading up to the album release on May 10, Amanda Miguel recently premiered renditions of Latin American folklore classics “Solo Le Pido a Dios” and “Soy Pan, Soy Paz, Soy Más,” offering a glimpse into her forthcoming studio album, “Yo Soy.” Through this release, she intends to share her most intimate reflections, essence, roots, and memories with her audience.
