Miami, FL (May 6, 2024) – This week, Billboard announced that Universal Music Publishing Group’s Alexandra Lioutikoff became the first-ever recipient of the 2024 International Power Players’ Choice Award. As the first executive to receive the distinguished honor, Lioutikoff – UMPG President of Latin America and US Latin – has been instrumental in the growth and development of UMPG’s roster of Latin writers and producers, and the inclusion of their songs into the global music market, including the TV and film sectors.
Jody Gerson, UMPG Chairman and CEO, said: “This is a well-deserved recognition of Alexandra’s leadership, business acumen and knowledge of the global Latin market. It’s wonderful to know that others in our industry recognize what I have long known.”
“I’m truly grateful for this recognition,” Lioutikoff says. “UMPG is proud to be at the forefront of global music, especially Latin, which has cemented its place in the landscape. We have long understood that all music is world music, regardless of language or geography, and it’s great to see diverse songs, cultures and tastes be embraced everywhere.”
Appointed to her role in 2019, Lioutikoff became the first woman to hold the role and the only woman to hold the position of President for a major multinational Latin music publishing company. A 20-year veteran, she’s become an unstoppable driving force in the music industry. Under her leadership, she oversees the business in 19 countries and led the signings of Romeo Santos, J Balvin, Rosalia, Carin Leon, Espinoza Paz, Rvssian, Bruno Martini, Young Martino, MadMusick, Raymix, Mon Laferte, FEID, Icon Music, Alvaro Diaz, XAVI, Ivan Cornejo, Yahritza y su Esencia, and Roc Nation Latin Publishing.
Alexandra’s work ethic, discipline and dedication have made her a symbol of empowerment for female industry executives, and has inspired a new generation of female leaders, by way of her continued accolades and achievements. In her tenure, UMPG has earned “Publisher of the Year” honors from both BMI and ASCAP, and she’s been named a Billboard Latin Power Player several times. Lioutikoff is also a recipient of the Ralph S. Peer Publishers Award from the Latin Songwriters Hall and received the TJ Martell Foundation Estefan Lifetime Achievement award. She also serves as a trustee of the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
