Lioutikoff Inspires Success for Women Executives as the Latin Music Industry Continues to Evolve
Miami, FL (June 5, 2024) – As Latin music growth in the U.S. continues to hit an all-time high, leading female executives who are a driving force of the business, and who are making an indelible mark, were recognized today. Universal Music Group’s (UMPG) Alexandra Lioutikoff – President of U. S. Latin and Latin America – was among this year’s Latin Women in Music honorees.
Lioutikoff has played an instrumental role in expanding the reach of Latin songwriters and producers into a global market. As President of a major multinational Latin music publishing company, Lioutikoff has become a stoppable force in the industry, and is proud to celebrate her accomplishments as a team effort.
“The best in the Latin music industry, and it shows in our results,” expressed Lioutikoff about her UMPG team, who’s late accomplishments include winning the ASCAP Latin publisher of the Year award (April). A 20-year veteran, Alexandra most recently became the first-ever recipient of the 2024 International Power Players’ Choice Award.
Alexandra’s work ethic, discipline and dedication have made her a symbol of empowerment for female industry executives, and is inspiring a new generation of female leaders, by way of her continued accolades and achievements. When asked what advice she’d have for aspiring Latina executives, she responded, “The Latin side of the music business is changing, so work hard and get noticed.”
Appointed to her role in 2019, Lioutikoff became the first woman to hold the role and the only woman to hold the position of President for a major multinational Latin music publishing company. Under her tenure, UMPG Latin has earned “Publisher of the Year” honors from both BMI and ASCAP and she’s been recognized on multiple occasions as a Billboard Latin Power Player; she’s a recipient of the Ralph S. Peer Publishers Award from the Latin Songwriters Hall, received the TJ Martell Foundation Estefan Lifetime Achievement award and serves as a trustee of the Latin Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
Overseeing operations in 19 countries and reporting directly to UMPG Chairman and CEO Jody Gerson, Alexandra has been instrumental in the growth and development of UMPG’s roster of Latin writers and producers, and the inclusion of their songs into the global music market and has led the signings of Romeo Santos, J Balvin, YannC & Chalko, KHEA, Luisa Sonza, XAVI, Rosalia, Carin Leon, Espinoza Paz, Rvssian, Young Martino, MadMusick, Mon Laferte, FEID, Icon Music, Alvaro Diaz, Ivan Cornejo, Yahritza y su Esencia, and Roc Nation Latin Publishing.
