Daddy Yankee will be honored with the Billboard Hall of Fame Award at this year’s Billboard Latin Music Awards, to be broadcast on Thursday, September 23, 2021. This award is given to artists who have achieved worldwide recognition for their work, transcending musical genres and languages. With over three decades in urban music, Daddy Yankee is one of the pioneers and top promoters of reggaeton, leading and elevating the genre into a cultural phenomenon, which has fueled an explosion in popularity of Latin music worldwide. Yankee will also perform his newest hit “Métele al Perreo” for the first time on television.
His most recent hit “Métele al Perreo”, produced by Luny [Luny Tunes], remained as last week’s most viewed Spanish-language video globally and has garnered more than 30 million views on YouTube.
