“El Que Hoy Está en tu Lugar” is part of Jenni Rivera’s recent posthumous album “Misión Cumplida,” a tribute to the “Eternal Diva de la Banda” through her kids.
Miami, FL. (October 4th 2023) – A few months ago, Jenni Rivera’s posthumous album, “Misión Cumplida” was released through her children as a special gift to Jenni’s devoted fanbase. Notable songs on the album include “Misión Cumplida” and “Pedacito de Mí”, which has achieved an unparalleled level of success on the charts. “El Que Hoy Estar en tu Lugar” is now following suit, as it reached No. 8 on Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart, as well as the Top 20 on the General Latin chart, proving that the “Eterna Diva de La Banda” continues to live through the hearts of the public.
To celebrate the song’s entry on the chart, Jenni’s youngest son, Johnny, explains the story behind “El Que Hoy Está en Tu Lugar”:
“I found the song in my mother’s files (hard drive), along with other songs like “Hablando Claro”, which is also part of the album. The goal of the album was to properly reflect my mother’s discography, and we made sure to listen to her songs that were similar to the ones I found. When I realized that this song was a cover by Chayito Valdez, we immediately thought of “Besos y Copas”, which was the first song that my mother learned when she was 8 years old, and we really liked the accordion touch that the song has. Likewise, we took the song ‘Parrandera, Rebelde y Atrevida’ as a reference to make this song.”
For her part, Jacqie Rivera, CEO of Jenni Rivera Enterprises, expressed:
“This song now shows Jenni La Parrandera, that woman who gave all women permission to be daring, rebellious and empowered. It is a song that makes you want to dance and have fun; something that I feel like many of my mom’s fans were missing. We chose this song as the second single because when we heard it on the full album, the essence of my mother was felt. The song transports me to a concert of hers,” she added.
On the other hand, “Pedacito de Mi” peaked at No. 1 on Mexico’s Radio Chart, with the music video garnering 2.4 million views on YouTube. “Pedacito de Mi” is not just a song, it’s a tribute to Jenni Rivera’s passion, dedication, and authenticity on behalf of her children.
In addition to releasing new music, Jenni Rivera Enterprises has become an institution that will continue to celebrate Jenni Rivera’s legacy in multiple ways. Jenni’s nonprofit efforts will also continue with the Jenni Rivera Love Foundation, which supports women and children who have experienced domestic violence and abuse, and aims to improve their quality of life.
